Drive south to Brittas Bay, Co Wicklow (approx. 1 hour). The European Club features sweeping sea views from 19 of its 20 holes — Pat Ruddy's personal labour of love, tumbling through dunes just south of Dublin. Afternoon free in Wicklow or return for Dublin sightseeing.

The Island at Donabate — bordered by the sea on three sides with the highest sand dunes of any links in Ireland. No two holes feel alike. Drive north to Baltray (approx. 1 hour). County Louth — affectionately known as "Baltray" — has hosted multiple Irish Opens and is surrounded by the Irish Sea, the River Boyne, and the mountains of Cooley. A championship links that rewards good course management. Return to Dublin.
