Founded in 1921 and originally shaped by Irish architect Eddie Connaughton before being expanded to a full eighteen by the legendary Eddie Hackett in the late 1980s, the course weaves through natural dunes and gorse with the Irish Sea as an ever-present companion.
The 2003 redevelopment brought five new greens, eight new tee complexes, and a striking modern clubhouse with panoramic views stretching from Howth Head across Dublin Bay to the Wicklow Mountains. Wind is an ever-present challenge, lending a raw, authentic links character to every round. Just eight kilometres from Dublin city centre, St Anne's offers a remarkable escape — a genuine links test wrapped in a wildlife sanctuary, where the hum of the capital gives way to birdsong, salt air, and the rhythmic crash of the sea.
