Royal Dar Es Salam (Red Course)
The Red Course at Royal Dar Es Salam is Africa's great golf course — a majestic Robert Trent Jones Sr. creation set in 1,000 acres of ancient cork oak and eucalyptus forest on the outskirts of Rabat. Commissioned by King Hassan II to create Morocco's premier golf destination, Trent Jones produced a course of regal grandeur that has hosted the Moroccan Open, the Hassan II Trophy, and the King's Cup for over five decades.
At 7,633 yards from the championship tees and featuring Trent Jones's characteristic wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and large greens, the Red Course is a genuine championship test. But it is the forest setting — cool, quiet, and utterly removed from the city — that makes it truly special.
Course Highlights
Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s African masterpiece — 1,000 acres of royal forest with 54 holes of golf across three courses.
Commissioned by King Hassan II and still maintained by the Royal Golf Federation — this is golf under royal patronage.
The course has welcomed Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, and every major champion to its Moroccan forest.
Ancient cork oaks and eucalyptus provide shade, tranquillity, and a setting of extraordinary natural grandeur.
