Fancourt Links Course
Gary Player's masterpiece and the finest golf course in Africa — a true links course built inland on the Fancourt estate near George, with natural heathland terrain, pot bunkers, and the Outeniqua Mountains as a constant backdrop. The Fancourt Links was purpose-built for the 2003 Presidents Cup, where the USA and International Team tied — the only tie in Presidents Cup history.
Player's design philosophy here was to recreate the great Scottish links experience in a South African context — wide fairways, deep pot bunkers, undulating heathland rough, and greens that reward the bump-and-run as much as the aerial approach. In 20 years, the course has matured beautifully and now ranks among the truly great courses in the world.
