Cape Kidnappers

Tom Doak's most celebrated international design, Cape Kidnappers sits on a ridgeline above the Pacific Ocean near Hawke's Bay — a golf course of almost incomprehensible drama. The final holes play along a narrowing ridge with 500-foot drops to the ocean on both sides, and the entire course was built with minimal earthmoving, following the natural contours of the clifftop land.

Doak himself has called Cape Kidnappers the most dramatic site he has ever worked on, and Golf Magazine ranked it among the top 10 courses in the world outside the USA. The Lodge at Cape Kidnappers, part of the Robertson collection, provides ultra-luxury accommodation for the complete experience.
