Arabella Golf Club
Arabella Golf Club
Arabella Golf Club occupies one of the most beautiful natural settings in South African golf — beside the Bot River Lagoon in the Overberg region, with the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve mountains rising directly behind and the lagoon creating dramatic water hazards on multiple holes. The course wraps around the lagoon for its entire back nine, with water views on every hole.
Peter Matkovich's design works entirely with the natural terrain, routing the course through indigenous fynbos vegetation that is a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Playing here is as much a nature experience as a golf round — flamingos, herons, and Cape mountain zebra are regular companions.
Course Highlights
The back nine wraps entirely around the lagoon — water views on every hole, with the Kogelberg mountains behind.
The course sits within UNESCO biosphere fynbos — Africa's most diverse plant kingdom surrounds every hole.
Mountain zebra graze the fynbos beyond the fairways, and flamingos wade in the lagoon shallows — extraordinary wildlife encounters.
An easy day trip or overnight stay from Cape Town — combining Garden Route golf with the Western Cape's wine country.
